• Prioritize growth in regions with existing or planned infrastructure.
• Encourage incorporation of regional disaster mitigation and prevention into long term, sustainable development planning.
• Encourage a variety of appropriate transportation choices to help increase traffic safety, reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.
• Link transportation design decisions to land-use planning for sustainable growth.
• Encourage development of openspaces and greenways to provide non-motorized transportation alternatives and natural resource connections between and through communities.
