Burial allowance requires veteran to have been in receipt of VA monthly disability payments
(or not if military retired and did not waive retired pay to receive VA disability payments)

Basic allowance is $300 for burial and an additional $300 for plot if not buried in National Cemetery |

If death is formally determined by VA to be service connected then the allowance payable is up to $2000 |

VA will engrave and ship free of charge an appropriate headstone or marker for the veterans final resting place |

Burial Honors Program
Two uniformed personel provide fold and present the flag and play tape in a bugle CD. This service is arranged
by the funeral home.
