Rain Barrel Workshops are $45 which includes all materials for your rain barrel! Preregister, then pay at the door by cash or check.

The owners of this house have eight rain barrels!  When all of them are full, they have 440 gallons of clean, fresh water for their landscape and garden.


GREEN INDUSTRIES BMP CLASS

The Green Industries Best Management Practices (BMPs) are designed to preserve and protect Florida's water resources.  Certification will become mandatory by 2014 for anyone applying commercial fertilizers to urban landscapes.  To become certified, you must attend the entire training and complete the pre and post test (you must pass the post test).  Once you meet the requirements, you will receive a cretificate and be placed on the list of BMP certified professionals at the University of Florida

  • Municipal parks and recreation facility supervisors adn employees
  • Irrigation industry workers
  • Commercial property managers
  • City and county planning department staff
  • City and county environmental department or water quality staff

  • Landscape designers adn architects
  • Golf course employees
  • Anyone working in the areas of water quality, urban development, or environmental issues
