Fay Lake Stormwater Improvement Plan

This project will provide for the design and construction of a diversion of the West Port St. John outfalls into Fay Lake, which will serve as a regional stormwater treatment pond.  This project provides improved water quality for the St. Johns River and will reduce flooding in the Port St. John area.  This project was approved by the Board of County Commissioners in September 2000.  Project implementation was delayed to allow for completion of the Chain of Lakes Project.  Depending on funding constraints associated with the Chain of Lakes, resumption of the Fay Lake project should begin with breaking the prior project plans into multiple phases with the intent of seeking grants to leverage stormwater assessments to fund construction of Phase I in FY09-10 and FY10-11, Phase II in FY11-12 and FY12-13 and Phase III in FY12-13 and FY13-14.
