Melbourne PDCITY OF MELBOURNE

The City of Melbourne operates a primary PSAP with seven (7) answering positions servicing five (5) incoming 9-1-1 trunks. The staff consists of 23 personnel including supervisors.

The staff utilizes the Positron "Lifeline" terminal equipment with seven 60-button IAP Plus Workstations. A 32-channel logging recorder is used to record 9-1-1 calls and each position has the use of an instant playback recorder.

Spectracomm Netclock equipment is installed to provide for master timing of 911 hardware.

The city handled 37,587 calls during the last fiscal year, making it the second busiest PSAP in the county. The following chart depicts the 9-1-1 emergency call loading for the last three fiscal years:
